Multiple days of snowshoeing in the Jura or Wallis
When you really would like to immerse yourself in Winter Wonderland you could also consider a 2 or 3 day trekking from hotel to hotel. We could hike in the beautiful mountains of the Jura or opt for more Alpine terrain in Berner Oberland or Wallis.
The peaks in the Jura are not as high as those in the Alps, but the lonely, vast forests are just perfect for snowshoeing! The phrase ‘winter wonderland” was probably first coined here!
As the Alps are higher and steeper, we must be aware of the avalanche risk in Berner Oberland and Wallis. For this reason, as well as snow shoes and poles, everyone will need to be equipped with an avalanche beacon, probe and shovel.

Snowshoeing isn’t difficult but you have to be fit as we will walk at least 5 hours per day.
I’ve written 2 blogs about snowshoeing:
1: The first is about why you should absolutely try snowshoeing
2: Snowshoeing and the wildlife in the Jura
