Tour du Mont Fallère, 3-day hut-to-hut trek in the Italian Alps
This three-day hike takes us on a tour round the imposing Mont Fallère (3061 metres high).
This hike is suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness since none of the paths are particularly technically demanding. Another advantage of the easy-going pathways is that instead of constantly watching where to put your feet, you can take in the breath-taking views!
We will walk between 5 and 6 hours a day, and spend the nights in 2 very comfortable mountain huts, where you will be able to enjoy local Italian cuisine, local wines and beers!
Day 1: Travel to the meeting place in Echevenoz. Today we will hike to the Rifugio Chaligne, a hike of ‘just’ 4 hours.
Day 2: After breakfast, we will start with a serious climb to the Pointe de Chaligne. The views from the top, with a panorama that takes in Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn, more then compensate for the hard work! Anyone interested can take a cooling dip in Lac Fallère. From the lake, the final stage to the hut of the same name will take just one hour. At this luxurious hut, you can recover in the sauna or in the jacuzzi situated in alpine meadows!
Day 3: We start day three with the ascent of Monte Vertosan, with its peak at almost 3000 metres! The subsequent descent and hike bring us back to the starting point.
For those who like to earn their Italian meal.
This route is suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness.
