Snowshoeing in the Bernese Oberland
A quiet journey through winter stillness

This three-day snowshoe trek leads you through one of my favourite winter regions in Switzerland: the lesser-known valleys of the Bernese Oberland. Far from the hustle of the big ski resorts, we walk from hotel to hotel, through snowy forests, past silent farmhouses, and across soft white meadows.

Each day we're outside for about four hours — enough to feel the magic of the landscape, not so much that it becomes a push. We move quietly, at a steady rhythm, with space for stillness, views, and deep breaths

Avalanche briefing

Before setting off, I'll guide you through avalanche safety basics: how to use the transceiver, probe, and shovel. We'll practise until everyone feels confident, comfortable, and ready for the backcountry.

Route & experience

We start in the Emmental, the land of rolling hills and cheese. From there, the terrain becomes wilder. Snow crunches under our feet, valleys open wide, and the days feel timeless. By evening, we arrive at small alpine hotels where warmth, good food, and comfort await — one of them even has a spa.

Along the way, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, plus quiet winter forests and open meadows that feel far away from it all.

This trek is not about rushing or ticking off summits. It's about reconnecting with winter in its most natural form, sharing the trail with a small group of likeminded people, and finding calm in movement.

You don't need previous snowshoe experience — just a good base fitness, a love of winter, and an open mind.

This trip is for you if…
