Via Alpina de luxe, 5-day hotel-to-hotel trek, women only

During this alpine trekking , we’ll explore 4 of the most picturesque stages of the Via Alpina, a classic long-distance trail, all while indulging in the comfort of charming boutique hotels nestled in the Bernese Oberland.

Day 1

Our first day is reserved for arriving and settling in at Kandersteg. I recommend arriving in the afternoon to enjoy the hotel’s spa facilities. Make sure to reach the hotel by 6 PM for the briefing, followed by a welcome dinner at 7 PM. Afterward, we’ll have a restful night in preparation for the adventure ahead!

Day 2

We begin our adventure by heading straight to one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the Alps—Oeschinensee, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It’s the perfect way to start the journey, as we soak in the stunning views and peaceful atmosphere of the lake. After exploring the area, we go back to our nice hotel for the night, chill out in the spa and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Distance: 8 km, 450 m ascent, 450 m descent, 3 hours of walking (without breaks).

Day 3

After a refreshing night, we’ll hike from Kandersteg up to the Bunderchrinde Pass, offering views of the Lohner summits. From here, we descend into Adelboden, a picturesque village with traditional wooden chalets. We’ll stay in a luxurious hotel with indulgent spa facilities to relax after a full day of hiking.

Distance: 12 km, 1251 m ascent, 1251 m descent, 7 hours of walking (without breaks).
This stage can optionally be shortened by taking a taxi (not included in the price).

Day 4

Leaving Adelboden, we trek through the Wildstrubel Massif and cross the Bummerenpass, surrounded by spectacular mountain views. The final stretch to Lenk, we descend by cable car and optionally we’ll take a bus to the best hotel in the area, complete with spa facilities for relaxation and a well-deserved 7-courses dinner to celebrate our last night together.

Distance: 10 km, 838 m ascent, 100 m descent, 4,5 hours of walking (without breaks).

Day 5

On the last day, we’ll take a more relaxed hike to give our tired legs a break, but it’s certainly no less beautiful. We’ll walk to a spectacular waterfall and make our way to the sources of this waterfall, the perfect spot for a lovely picnic!

Distance: 11 km, 200 m ascent, 200 m descent, 3 hours walking (without breaks).

Back in Lenk, we’ll enjoy one last drink together before it’s time to bid farewell to your new friends.

Fitness requirements:

Even though you won’t need to carry a heavy backpack during the hike, it is still quite challenging due to the long distances we cover. Therefore, you need to be in good physical condition. Additionally, some sections of the trail are quite narrow, so surefootedness is essential, and you must not have a fear of heights.
