Yoga in Switzerland – Swiss Alps

Move your body, rest your mind, nourish your soul

Embark on a rejuvenating journey amidst the breath-taking scenery of the Swiss Alps during this 4-day Hiking and Yoga retreat. With the mountains at your doorstep, each day will offer you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the purity of nature surrounded by majestic peaks, to breathe the freshest air, and to move your body in synchronicity with nature.

Your Swiss alpine adventures will be complemented by energising Hatha yoga sessions in the morning and restorative practices, such as Yoga Nidra, in the evenings. And when it comes to nourishment and replenishment, what could be more vitalizing than indulging in delicious  Ayurvedic meals crafted from locally sourced ingredients?

Our cosy accommodation will serve as our basecamp. Here we will enjoy outdoor yoga under the rising sun, it’s where we start each day’s hike from, and it’s where we return to for some relaxing and restorative yoga practice in the evening, followed by soul nourishing food in good company.

Our basecamp

We rented a nice and cozy chalet in La Fouly, Valais. La Fouly is a true hiking paradise with three stunning mountain lakes, an impressive waterfall on the other side of the valley, and lush forests. The diverse natural elements make it a captivating destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking both tranquility and adventure.

What’s our intention?

We love the mountains. We love the soothing and inspiring effect that nature has on us. We love that it gives us an outlet, an opportunity to move surrounded by pure beauty. We love that mountains bring people together, to adventure, to laugh, to have fun and to simply be.

Yoga and Ayurveda fits into this perfectly, as Yoga as a practice means to reconnect you with your true nature, to remember who you are at your core. And Ayurveda invites you to see the world as it relates to the five elements ether, air, fire, water and earth. It invites you to see yourself as a reflection of nature and vice versa and to use time tested simple practices to keep your inner nature in balance.

So… our intention is to create a space where you can intentionally and consciously move your body, where you can safely rest your mind and where you feel welcomed to nourish your soul. And let’s not forget the playfulness! We want you to have fun!

Yoga teacher Mirjam Steiner

Like many I came to yoga for the physical aspect initially. My perception of the scope of the practice changed dramatically during my first yoga teacher training in 2018. I gained a completely new perspective on myself, the world around me and on how the two interact. It wasn’t always comfortable, I can tell you!

Traditional Hatha Yoga

Of course yoga has physical benefits, but why stop here, if it has so much more to offer? Hatha Yoga uses the body and the breath to access the mind, to still it enough so we can hear what is going on beyond thought. It deals with the cultivation of power and the intelligent cultivation and directing of life force, with aligning that life force and our innate desire in order to burn through limitations that keep us stagnant.

We will dive into all this during our retreat through Asana, Pranayama (Breathwork) and Meditation. And is there a more beautiful place to practise than in nature?
