Via Alpina de luxe, 4-day hotel-to-hotel trek
This classic long-distance trail spans 20 stages from Liechtenstein to Montreux, and we will tackle four of the most scenic ones while staying in charming boutique hotels in the Bernese Oberland.
Day 1
Our journey begins in Lenk, where we’ll get used to our hiking shoes again and warm up with an acclimatisation hike to the stunning “Simmenfälle” before relaxing in the spa and enjoying a delicious dinner in the most beautiful hotel of Lenk.
200 m ascent, 200 m descent, 11 km, 3 hours walking
Day 2
After a good rest, we’ll leave Lenk and climb through the Wildstrubel massif, while gazing at spectacular waterfalls, to the Hahnenmoos Pass. Then down to Adelboden, to get pampered in another very luxurious hotel with indulgent spa facilities.
987 m ascent, 679 m descent, 13 km, 5,5 hours walking (without breaks).
Day 3
Probably hard to leave our “comfort(able) zone” but the trail is calling. Today we’ll hike up facing the 3 Lohner summits to the Bunderchrinde Pass, than going to down to the picturesque little village of Kandersteg with its romantic traditional wooden chalets. Here we will spend the night in a charming & luxurious hotel again and enjoy a well-deserved delicious dinner.
1203 m ascent, 1223 m descent, 14 km, 7 hours walking (without breaks).
Day 4
Ending the trip on a high! On our last day we’ll admire one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in the Alps, the Oeschinensee, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most spectacular highlights of the Via Alpina.
1068 m ascent, 567 m descent, 11 km (5 hours walking without breaks).
