Autumn Escape in the Magic of Valais

Golden larches, crisp mountain air, and alpine peace
a soulful retreat in the heart of the Swiss Alps.

As summer fades and autumn begins to paint the mountains in shades of gold, the canton of Valais transforms into a tranquil haven. The larch trees turn a warm amber, the skies are crystal clear, and the mountain air becomes refreshingly crisp. This is the perfect moment to slow down, reconnect with nature, and immerse yourself in the majestic beauty of the Swiss Alps.

Join us for a week-long autumn journey through the stunning Val de Bagnes region—an experience that blends gentle exploration with cultural gems and moments of deep relaxation.

Sunday – Arrival in Val de Bagnes
Your alpine adventure begins. Upon arrival, settle into your home for the week: Hotel à Larze in Le Châble—a charming, family-run hotel that perfectly blends comfort with alpine authenticity. The hotel is known for its warm hospitality, beautifully designed wooden interiors, and hearty breakfasts that will fuel you for the day’s adventures. Located just a short walk from the train station and lift to Verbier, it’s the ideal base for exploring the surrounding mountains while enjoying peaceful village charm.

Monday – Acclimatization Walk in Verbier
We start with a leisurely walk in and around Verbier—perfect to gently ease into the altitude and rhythm of the mountains. Expect panoramic views, peaceful trails, and that unmistakable alpine serenity.

Tuesday – Glacier Views and Mountain Magic
A short minibus ride brings us to the trailhead of one of the region’s most spectacular hikes. With sweeping views of the Corbasière Glacier and the dramatic peaks beyond, this day promises awe and inspiration at every turn.

Wednesday – Free Day: Culture, Wine, or Wellness
Take the day at your own pace. Explore the world-renowned Pierre Gianadda Museum in Martigny, sample the unique wines of Valais, visit Chamonix and soar to the Aiguille du Midi, or sink into the warm waters of a mountain spa. The choice is yours.

Thursday – Bisse du Trient Hike
We follow the historic Bisse du Trient, an ancient irrigation channel that now serves as a scenic walking path. This peaceful trail leads us toward the Trient Glacier, through forests brushed with autumn color.

Friday – Prehistoric Wonders at Lac d’Emosson
Our journey concludes with a hike to Lac d’Emosson, where you’ll walk in the footsteps of dinosaurs. Yes—real fossilized tracks await, along with breathtaking views over one of the most dramatic landscapes in the region.

Good to know

The hikes are not technically difficult and do not require mountaineering skills, but a good level of physical fitness and a bit of hiking experience is necessary to enjoy the trails comfortably, as we walk around 5 hours per day (without counting the breaks).
