Planning a snowshoe outing? You can rent snowshoes, poles and avalanche safety equipment from Mountful Hikes, whether you are joining one of our guided trips or heading out independently.
There is no need to buy your own technical equipment for a few days in the mountains. Let me know what you need and when, and I will confirm availability with you.

Rental prices
Prices are in Swiss francs, per person per day:

Special rates for guided three day trips
Joining one of my guided three day snowshoe trips? Special equipment package rates apply for the full trip: CHF 75 per person for snowshoes and poles on the Jura trip, or CHF 175 per person for the complete set on the Berner Oberland and Italian Alps trips. These rates are exclusively for participants in my guided three day trips. The daily rates above apply to standalone rentals.
Select the equipment you need on your trip registration form. I will confirm availability and the rental arrangements personally. Please bring your own suitable winter clothing and footwear.

Renting equipment separately
Staying in Verbier or elsewhere in the Val de Bagnes? You do not need to book a guided tour to rent equipment. Local residents and visitors are welcome to hire snowshoes, poles or an avalanche safety kit, subject to availability. Email famke@mountfulhikes.com with your rental dates, the number of people and the equipment you would like to hire.

Collection and return
Collection and return are by appointment in Versegères, Val de Bagnes. If you are joining a guided trip, we can arrange the handover at the start of the trip.

Looking after the equipment
- For standalone rentals, a refundable security deposit applies: CHF 100 for snowshoes with or without poles; CHF 350 for an avalanche safety kit; CHF 450 in total for a complete set. Deposits are payable in cash or by TWINT.
- No security deposit is required when you join one of my guided tours. The arrangements for loss or damage still apply.
- For standalone rentals, the security deposit is returned after the equipment has been checked on return, subject to any charges for loss or damage.
- Please return all equipment clean, dry and complete.
- Loss or damage will be charged at replacement value.
- Mammut Barryvox transceivers are checked after each rental, with batteries replaced when needed.

Using avalanche safety equipment
Avalanche equipment is only useful when you know how to use it. Renting a kit does not replace appropriate knowledge, practice or careful route selection.
On my guided trips where this equipment is required, I explain how it works and we practise together before heading out. Standalone equipment rental does not include a training session.
